1972 Ford Ranchero 500. 302 automatic. He got it from his grandfather.
It’s a little rough around the edges. The trans won’t go into park (which I’m hoping is a linkage issue), the paint is a solid 15 footer, and the wheels are not that nice.
His immediate plans are fix the trans, put a Traction Lok (Posi in Chevy terms) in it, and slap on a set of slotted mags, as well as find an original bench or pair of bucket seats for it.
Overall, it’s very cool.

Oh man, the memories! My first car was a ‘72 Gran Torino. It originally had the 351W but that was trashed when I got it so I put in a 400M. It wasn’t fast, or reliable but at least it used a lot of gas.

I hope he has enough mustache and chest hair to pull of that beast of a car/truck

yeah, that was a thing on ‘70s Fords:
at least he got a good looking Ranchero, and not this monstrosity from a few years later:

His won't even go into park. I'm pretty sure it's not the original shifter so someone probably screwed something up

This one has a fuel cell in the bed and an inaccurate gas gauge. He actually ran out of gas bringing it over!
